Another ticket (fightable?)

I was leaving boosgeek's (jer) house at 2 am on the 11th of july with a headlight out after i had been drinking.... at the five corners a cop decided to pull me over and give me a $50 ticket for my exhuast and $35 ticket for having a headlight out...... can i fight those 2 things?  cause i thought you get a warning first for a headlight and i've never got a ticket for my exhuast they usually jsut say to change it back to stock

You could say you were too drunk to notice the headlight out!  :o

I would just say you had no idea it was out till the cop told you about it, they may side with you on that. Exhaust is a bit trickier, ask boostgeek. He may have a god defence after all the times he got pulled over for exhaust in Granby.

I used to get pulled over all the time w/ my eclipse on 91... cops in mass suck a$$... thats my motto.

I had a 95 mustang w/ no cats and flowmasters and never got pulled over in ny... good thing, $2000 dollar fine if you get caught twice with no cats.


I would say if you were going to get out of the ticket, your best chance would have been to talk to him right then and there... once you get it, even if it gets reduced, you're going to court  :-/ .  
Best thing to do is to say " I didn't realize" and "I'm glad you stopped me, cause I wouldn't have know" " I should get that fixed first thing in the morning"  Stuff like that.  They eat it up.  I got pulled over 5 or 6 times in mass, and never got a ticket... Not bad for an out-of-state license holder.

FIX the headlight PUT the stock exhaust BACK ON

go to court, show them pictures, and have someone inspect it, so theres PROOF you are legal

ive been in situations on my motorcycle where some drunk asshole was on the wrong side of the road and almost hit me, i know he was drunk cuz i ended up chasing him and getting into an altercation

i would say to fight it... because if they see you are willing to go to court over the matter.. they will ussually atleast reduce the fine if not drop it all together... but based on the fact that you had been drinking.. i would just be thankful thats all you got....
