Test drove a WRX today

So I didnt really have anything to do today so I decided to go look for a new car for me.  I started at the Ford dealership to check out the new engine for the Focus.  Test drove, was impressed by the power over the 2.0 engine.  From there I hit the Subaru dealership.  I told the girl my situation and she said to go for a ride.  Needless to say, I hate Ford now.  The feeling of the car was unlike anything else I've ever driven before.  WR Blue 2004.  I dont even care if I have no money at the end of the week.  As long as I pay the car payments, it seems well worth it.

Were any of the WRX owners here able to get the dealer to drop the price at all ?  They wanted 25,400 for the car.  Sound about right ?

I got mine for 23,900 I believe but I bet i could have gone lower if I was any good at negotiating. You just have to keep like your not interested anymore and they will keep lowering the price. You may be able to pickup a 03 for a hella lot cheaper also.

oh yeah, get the price of the car first, then negotiate the trade in.. Dealers like to put these both together at the start and jimp you on trade in. Keep em seperate.

u can go way lower than that. i got mine last year for 22,800 plus tax with upgraded speakers and spoiler. Put over 16,000 miles on it already and not one thing wrong with it.    Definitely get one if u can.

Yeah bro, I used to be in love with them back when we never even had it.  Could never afford one up till now so I think I'll finally make a dream come true.  I stopped at Curry tonight to see what they had for WRX's and they have a nice black one with 17" BBS wheels.  Seems nice.  Not sure if I want a black car or not though.  My focus was black and it was such a pain in the ass to keep clean.  Especially where I work.  I told this one guy where I work that has a 99 Civic Si that I was maybe gettin a Rex and he said he could still beat me.  I laughed for a good ten minutes.

I dont really have a trade because my last car was my Focus that Jenn totaled.  Ah well, insurance is gonna be giving me more for my Focus than what I paid soo I can use that as a down payment.  I need to get my ass in that seat again.  Awesome car.

Buy the Precision turbo kit for the focus.. 225whp on 87 octane gas.. Tuned right at the right amount of boost you could do some serious fucking damage. I think they ran a 13.9 by just bolting it on.

Fords are cool, they dont suck. Boosted Fords just kick ass. :D

Cant get any turbo kits for a brand new Focus.  All Foci in Mass from now on have the new PZEV engine which doesnt work with the turbo.  But anyway, I got a hold of my insurance company today and they are giving me $17,528 for my Focus.  I only owed $13,550.  Thats $4,000 for a down payment towards the WRX.  I'm hoping I can get the car for around 22K or 23K.  Now I just have to decide on a color.  Hehe, I'm so excited.

Buy a used SVT Focus or a ZX3.. turbo it.. 87 Octane was they ran it a very very very very conservative tune. Its in all the ford magazines.

Good luck with the WRX if you do get it. Not my thing tho but to each his own.

Forget the focus. get the rex. if you cant afford a new one, buy a used 02 or 03.

The focus has already been forgotten.  I just have to decide on a color.  Either gonna go with red or blue.  I love the blue but a lot of people have it.  Ah well, we'll see.  I went to Ty Subaru today.  I talked with Dean the salesman and he seemed pretty cool.  He said he could give it to me for 23,000.  I'm going back on Monday becuase they were closing as I got there.  I'll take it for a little bit longer of a test run to really get the feel of it and make sure i'm making the right decision (was only able to go down riverdale rd for like 2 minutes last time)
I should be getting my check in the mail within a few days so I can get this underway.

The dealer told me the 17" BBS wheels they are adding as an option are like $760/wheel.  Thats fucken crazy.  I could get some Volk TE37's with rubber for the price of all 4 of the BBS.
