should I get rims or an intake?
I already have an exuast so I'm leaning towards the intake and leaving the stock rims on..... ???

Get the intake for sure. I got the Hotshot intake with a B&M filter that allows you to attatch a ram air tube to it. There isn't really any room to run a hose but it's still practical because it still catches good air flow from the fender well. Mounting it was kinda funky because or a support rod but other than that it has a nice sound and makes the throttle more responsive. I think it would go well with a chip but I dunno. Having an exhaust is a nice benefit though, I want to get one. What kind do you have? Anyway here's the setup below. As for the wheels, go for it but hold on to your stock ones for the winter. I made the mistake of destroying a set of Enkei CDR-9s in the winter because I'm an assclown of the no-talent variety.

Get the intake next. Especially since you've already done the exhaust. Then get a header and hi-flo cat.
If you do rims, you want to keep them at stock weight or under. Adding unsprung weight to the car can really kill your acceleration. I know because my Prodrives were 22lbs a piece. The stock wheels are only 16.5lbs. When I went from the prodrives to the stock wheels, I couldn't believe how much faster the car was.

I would definitely lean towards an intake.....You've opened the exhaust side, now it'sa time to get some increased breathing to match ;D

i bought the zx2 with the exhuast already on and they said it's a pace setter (you say it in the home depot parking lot that day and we rolled downtown to the rice fest), it sounds nice and i can feel the back pressure in my pedal

When I had an SI.. the intake gave me ~ 5-10whp so IMHO.. Thats what you should do first with NA cars is the intake... and I did notice a pretty good difference with the CAI from AEM... Not sure if they make a CAI for the zx2 however.

Guess I'm the only one whos gonna say wheels?
I also support getting some wheels on that beast, make it look so much nicer imo.

:D
The funny thing is that....theoretically....you could pick up HP with a good CAI (preferably a "tuned design, made out of some non-"thermal" material)or with a good set of rims....yes, Rims!!! people don't realize that rims can make your car slower if the rims are heavier than stock! i've seen dyno tests where they've actually picked up HP with a good aluminum 3-peice rim (lower weight)....not much, but 4-5 HP is nothing to sneeze at either! :-/

I remember the days when a 5 hp gain was awesome. Since getting into turbo cars, gains of 20-25hp after a mod is considered good. ;D

Yes, but for those of us without Turbo, any gain is just fine ;D

Very true, then again maybe we shouldn't be on boostgeek.com w/o Turbo

I was speaking with someone today, forgot his name, DOH, and he suggested to get an intake, and bov. I want lowering springs and maybe a custom exhaust system also. *:o

Just exhaust made me jump from 375RWHP stock to 406.68RWHP. That was with the baffles in too. Catted X pipe and Catback.. Wait until I get my headers on and take off the cats. I'm not at 407RWHP anymore but the gains from a plugged up car are amazing.. Especially a boosted one..
So yeah.. 5rwhp aint shit.. Chances are those light rims will make ur car spin like fuck when you have some real power. I'd rather have some meaty rims that pin the tires to the ground. :D
