1998 Contour SVT E1
Silver | Leather | Moon Roof | 200hp | Power Seats, Locks, Windows | V6 FWD
Build Number 6291 of 6535

$3,000 Firm

Heres the issue. It has a noise coming from the engine bay like knocking noise. Not sure what the problem is and it has not been looked at. Other than that the car is in good shape.
It does run and can be driven, but I would recomend not too far until it is looked at.
The car has 101,000 miles and most of the miles are from me driving 70 miles on the highway one way to work.

The following below is an outline of the after market stuff done to the car...

Eibach Springs
Koni Yellow Adjustable Struts
Rear Strut Tower brace
Remote Sunroof
Audi Side markers.
Konig Tantrum Wheels
Tinted windows
(one has a slight bend in it, but i have a brand new one as well to give for a total of 5 wheels)
Sony Cd player.

The car will come with The After market wheels and suspension as well as the stock wheels and suspension.

One side skirt has a crack in it which is on the side pointing towards the inside of the car.
The car does need new tires for the after market wheels.

It has just had the poer steering pump and power steering rack replaced.
There is also new brake pads and new rotors in the front, less than 3k on them.

The car has brought me many days of happiness and has turned many heads. It handles like a dream. The car does need some money invested in it, but i figure for someone who realy wants it, you could have the thing repaired like new, have a great looking car and not have high car payments.

KBB lists the car as $5,530. in Good condition.

I love the car and thought about fixing it myself but I want a Lancer Evolution and need to pay off the loan for this SVT which is at $6,500.

email or pm me for more questions.. michael@mklaro.com

yea, if the clicking gets louder and faster, it's definatly not good, im not 100% sure what it is, but my 240 did it for about 5 months before it ran like crap. the engine is just about blown..i just didnt have the time or money to see whats actually wrong..

BTW: im selling the 240..B.O. if anyone is interested ;)

it was fixed under warrenty so im not sure. im pretty sure the block from a non svt contour is the same as ours. only thing different on ours is the UIM, LIM, injectors, MAF, throttle body and cams i believe

That happened to my boys cougar V6 (newer body) I He brought it to the dealership and they found out that it was his lifters. They can be kinda expensive to replace, but I do know that he concidered using parts from an SHO 3.0 to upgrade, but he didn't have the cash at the time. I always use to gawk at ur car whenever I would go to the CopperLine for lunch or whatever. Beautiful ride! What do you plan on getting next?
